Qns 1. What is Holdinghands ? (Updated on 12 June 09)

Ans. Holdinghands was created in Feb 2009. It is not a charitable organisation. It does not solicit donations from the public. It is not affiliated with any organisation. The main purpose of setting up this non profit driven website, in a personal capacity, is to promote fillial piety, importance of showing love and being simply happy. Beside the website, Holdinghands wristbands and badges are sold as merchandise to promote and enhance the retention of these messages. It is also my personal decision to give away part of the sales proceed to the 3 beneficiaries. (Refer to Qns 5)

Qns 2. What is Holdinghands's mission and vision?
Ans. Holdinghands's mission is to remind the population especially the younger ones to take care of their parents in good or bad times and not to abandon them when they age or become sickly.

Vision : Is for everyone not to leave their parents behind and still walk with them the way they were walked as toddlers.

Qns 3. Why wristband is used to promote this cause?
Ans. Wristband is used as it's
1. Serves as a constant reminder
2. Non intrusive
3. Hip and cool
4. Easy to wash and can wear it everyday
5. Last longer than other forms of bracelets
6. Environmental friendly
7. Creates a self identity
8. Can pair off with your fashion accessories
9. Can be worn across religious and cultures due to its neutrality


Qns 4. Is there any receipt for the wristband purchase?
Ans. Yes. Receipt will be issued for all wristband purchase. For delivery purpose, you are required to provide your address when placing an order.

Qns 5. How much is one wristband?And how much goes to the 3 beneficiaries? And happen to the rest?
Ans. Each wristband cost S$4. Till 31 Dec 09, every S$2 from each wristband sale will go to the 3 beneficiaries with the following breakdown :
i) Singapore Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund to receive
S$1.20 ;
ii) Actions for Singapore Dogs (ASD) to receive S$0.40 and
iii) Dover Park Hospice to receive S$0.40.

The remaining S$2 will go to cover cost such as wristbands supply, delivery transportation, promoting awareness in facebook, google ads and future activities etc.

Qns 6.How do I know if the beneficiaries receive the funds?
Ans. All purchases will be recorded on this page. A receipt will be given for all purchase too. At all times, the purchase of wristbands can be verified. Cheque presented to the beneficiaries are also recorded in that page.

Qns 7. What's the wristband purchase policy?
Ans. Due to hygiene purpose, all wristbands sold are non-refundable and non exchangeable.

Qns 8. Why do you need to advertise in facebook and google ads?
Ans. My mission is to spread the intended messages mainly to the younger audience. These social networking websites like facebook (more than 100 million active users) provide an excellent platform to reach out to these people. I also rely on word of mouth, email circulations to spread the messages.

Qns 9. Why must I purchase 5 wristbands at a time?
Ans. I believe in paying it forward. That means when you get your 5 wristbands, you will give the extras to your loved ones. This way, you are part of this wonderful campaign and would have also done your part by reminding the receipients of Holdinghands and its messages.

Qns 10. Is Holdinghands supported by any organisation?
Ans. Holdinghands is not supported by any organisation at this moment. I am funding all expenses from my limited savings. The campaign can only go far if there are kind financial support (through purchasing the wristbandsand badges) from companies and individuals.
