Terence Lew, 28 Creative Director

Afflicted with rubella at a young age, Terence lost his hearing, but chances are, he's done more in this lifetime than what most regular guys can only dream of. Altogether, he's taken part in a host of Ironman events, triathlons, marathons, dragon boat and adventure races. What's more, he holds a regular job in digital media industry - of which he communicates via writing, email and text messaging if he can't use sign language.
He quotes, "The greatest disability is a bad attitude." Adding to his medal tally, Terence represented Singapore in the Ironman in Western Australia last year and has plans to take part one in Switzerland this year (2009). He will be competing against able-bodied guys in the Men and Group categories. Besides these events, the unstoppable dynamo is also contemplating conquering Mount Everest and completing a Deca-Ironman held in 10 days. "The only difficult part with most events is that I've got to rely on my eyes since I can't hear," he says. Much like numerous obstacles he faces in daily life, however tough things get, you can be sure Terence's going to keep chugging.
